@gabboman @alexia I've noticed that a YouTube video linked in a woot on Wafrn will always take me to a new browser tab on YouTube, where as on other platforms like Mastodon & Diaspora, in both webview and on apps, the video will just happily play within the post without leaving the Fediverse tab or app. Is there anyway to keep the focus on Wafrn when playing these YT videos, rather than having to be dumped into Google-verse to see them?

@jupiter_rowland I hadn’t really thought about it but since Tumblr itself is supposed to eventually get #ActivityPub support, they may actually end up being the first to do tag based CWs in the #Fedivese, especially if Tumblr users will be able to follow accounts outside of Tumblr. I hope this inspires some innovation!

As an example, this account is located on a #friendica server. friendica speaks #activtyPub, as many other software out there, yet it behaves different than #mastodon. For example it delivers notifications when other profiles comment on a post this profile commented on. So if someone else set's a reminder, unless it's done in DM mode, this profile will get a notification as for any other comment. Your bot is really useful but you should have in mind that it will interact with the whole #fediVese, not only mastodon. Over here for example at least in this version there is no option to change the publishing level to unlisted, followers only or DM. You just reply the same way the post or respective reply is set to. So there is no option to reply in DM mode for example.

From a #privacy point of view and considering hat most people aren't to tec savy I definitely consider you should set the default to DM and in any case create the option to request e.g "only followers 1 day", "unlisted 1 day" and/or "public 1 day" specifically. Other wise you expose the people to become "game" for data miners that simply have to check your toots and answers stream to pick up users and their interests. The fediVerse is very privacy aware and in my opinion you'll definitely earn respect by the community if you are excessively aware, careful and respectful on that matter.

Meinung | Politiker und Institutionen erwähnen!

Richtig nice finde ich, dass Mozilla mit einer eigenen offenen Mastodon Instanz im Fediverse stärker aktiv wird.
Ich bin gespannt, ob es nur dabei bleibt oder ob die Instanz auch in die eigenen Produkte integriert wird, z.B. Firefox, Thunderbird oder vielleicht ein eigener Social Media-Client (Nur so eine Idee).
