@BeAware I haven't had (almost) any such issues with #fediseer, but my primary audience has been #lemmy and the #threadiverse instead of microblogging. There's surprisingly different norms that have been organically reached in mastodon over the past decade which are fairly alien outside it.
It honestly feels more like a small group of people trying to futilely hold back the Eternal September through scolding and pile-ons.

Regular reminder that the #fediseer provides a crowdsourced and machine-usable interface to discover and manage blocklists. One can follow the blocks (or allows) one of more instances they trust, or discover what others think about specific instances. https://gui.fediseer.com

for those following the recent spam-wave on #fediblock, and especially those trying to maintain lists for spam-affected instances, I want to suggest you take a look at #fediseer. It's a tool a deployed specifically for such use cases.
If you're maintaining a list, you get an interface (or can make your own integration) to add/remove instances from a public list. If you're trying to keep up to date, you can automatically follow someone else's list and update your silences. https://gui.fediseer.com -
