Real life #Fedimeet! I encountered @maggiechapman running along the Don a fortnight or so ago - she was running, I was ambling with the dogs.
It was a beautiful day and we agreed to not talk politics.
I forgot to note it here then but the wild raspberries have come out in that spot now, and the cygnets that hatched close by are swimming in the Don.

Reminding #LowerHutt #wellington #UpperHutt #PalmerstonNorth #Kāpiti etc folks about our #fedimeet pot luck bbq at Avalon Park this Sunday by the BBQs south of the duck pond from 4-6pm. @MichaelaKHulse and I will bring a bit of meat, a salad and oil and cooking tools.

This is day two of my unplanned YouTube strike, and once again I was able to get through the day without opening YouTube at all.
Partly I did that by spending more time on Mastodon; it really helps that I'm seeing a lot more activity and responses here. Thanks for that, everybody!
That actually makes me want to write more here. I suspect that I should be trying to take next steps to help make FediMeet a reality, but I don't know what to do. I did find an online resource about creating new Fediverse project, but I haven't started reading it yet. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
I wonder what I would need to learn? Coding? Stuff about servers? I have a fair amount of basic computer knowledge, and I took a basic class in Turbo Pascal in college, but that was decades ago. Still, I'm willing to try to learn. Again, I'm wide open to suggestions!
And with that I'm going to call it a night. Good night!
