  3. By default, #Fedilab supports pronouns. It will display them, next to screen names in timelines but also when replying to a person.
For that, Fedilab uses fields (from profiles) and accepts different keys depending on your language.#FedilabTips

PS: Don't hesitate to share with us new keys for pronouns in your language.

  5. You might have an active Home timeline, unfortunately, #Mastodon instances won't keep all messages. So you might lose/miss some of them.
#Fedilab introduced the ability to cache your Home timeline in the background. This is also useful if you have a weak connection, the app will read them later from cache. #FedilabTips

  7. With #Fedilab, you can customize how timelines are displayed in the app.
For that just open "Main menu > Manage timelines".
You will be able to reorder your timelines by moving items. Hide a timeline by tapping on the eye icon. All timelines can be removed excepted default ones that can only be hidden.
Also, by tapping on the "+" button at the top right, you will be able to follow remote instances (and also Twitter accounts through #Nitter). #FedilabTips

  9. Maybe an old unknown feature of #Fedilab. In settings > Privacy you can enable an option to remove UTM parameters in URLs.
It will work for new messages but you can still clear the cache from the app.

  13. Fedilab continues to surprise me with features that I missed. Open a profile and go to 'Media'. This gives you a great view of all the media on the account—only media, no text. One tap opens the media, as expected. What I didn't know is that tapping and holding brings you to the corresponding post. :floofHappy:

  19. so it seems like #Fedilab doesn't respect your default posting language setting you've set for the account, instead deferring to your phone's display language? which is a really bad idea in my opinion?
can anyone else using Fedilab confirm or alternatively tell me where one can find the default posting language setting?

  36. One thing that I love about #Fedilab is the ability to #follow #instances. It allows you to follow another user's #instance, and it appears to be working quite well, with my #federated #timeline having more posts from those instances that I am interested it. Quite nice, I haven't seen it in other #apps yet

The goal is to cache your home messages even if you don't use the app.
It is per account and you can adjust the fetch time (default: disabled).
If you have a very active home timeline, it can be useful. The app will keep it for you in cache during 7 days.

That will make your home timeline cleaner. #fedilabTips

  55. We have to clarify something between a #Mastodon feature and a #Fedilab feature.

Follow hashtags (a Mastodon feature) means that you will get messages containing that hashtags in your home timeline even if you don't follow accounts that wrote these messages.

If you want a dedicated timeline, it's a Fedilab feature called "pinned tags".
It's a dedicated timeline where you can even group several # and exclude some others. You can even only display media.
