This weekend the HF bands were horrid. I did manage to get about 30 or so contacts, but definitely had to work for them! Green is 40m, blue is 20m, and the one purple is 17m. At least it was a good test for my new microphone, a Yaesu M-90D that I picked up at Dayton Hamvention this weekend. Certain circumstances required me to leave early, so I missed the fedihams meetup. =(

Hey #Fediham folks - how many of you use Yaesu C4FM and WIRES-X? It is getting very popular here where I live. I'm not super stoked about another closed-source #hamradio thing, but I do use it.

Anyway, I was given an HRI-200 and was thinking about putting it online, and maybe bridging it to something else. We could make a Fedihams room on WIRES-X if anyone would use it

I think this could be a way to introduce people to amateur radio in an inclusive way, I think it would be a way to grow the #FediHam community, and I think it would be great for adding more diverse voices on the air.

So while browsing around for repeater info today, I happened across the slightly-less-local ARC in my area, and honestly...I think I'm gonna check it out. Seems a lot more active than the club down the street. Worst case scenario, I spend $15 for an annual membership and end up hating it and just remain a steadfast #FediHam

But it was nice to see one of their featured speakers at this month's meeting was a teenager selling EFHW antennas!

I'm still "listening" on #FediHam #DRM but I'm in the #OMISS 40M net so I won't be answering for a while.

I'm on #FediHam DMR right now if anyone wants to #QSO about #POTA #SOTA #HF #vodka vs #gin or whatever.

Based on the results of my #FediHam digital net poll, I can say there isn't adequate interest from those who participated so I'll be shelving the idea.

Would the #FediHam community be interested in a weekly digital (DMR/YSF/DStar/Echolink, etc) net?

I have some experience running nets and could serve as a Net Control Station.
