#fedicate — Public Fediverse posts

I've been spending most of today updating the https://vex.blue website, The goal will be to make it so it has a proper banner along with a store page that will have products on in the near future.

The other things I've found well looking across the site is that we need a better way of the Articles to deal with METADATA as currently it doesn't.

This means that I have to manually update ~30 articles with a new system that accepts metadata along with update the comment section to actually work again with an Article account being needing to be developed on break3.social for those posts to be out there and accessible for displaying them on the site.

So all in all a lot more to do before v4.5 on the site, but it'll be a welcomed change.

Also as a side-note, I will be slowly moving Fediverse related posts and pages across to https://fedicate.org as the @fedicate Project now deals with those as a brand instead of directly.

I've spent the past week working on the @fedicate project, This has been an amazing journey creating something that people can hopefully use for resources along with linking to valid areas of the Fediverse that could be useful.

I've now launched the official @fedicate account to keep the project in it's own area. Well #Fedicate does this somewhat it'll be better to keep the project to it's own account keeping any personal posts away from it.

Well I still may do the occasional update on this account it'll most likely be boosted by the other account if it's good enough. Thank you all for the amazing feedback so far and hope we can keep Fedicating people in the future.

I've been working hard on bringing my friends into the fold of the Fediverse due to the Discord ID Verification Globally along with more tighter controls, data collection and governments wanting that data.

So disappointing to realise that, in all this #Fedicate mess, it's been developed by someone who runs @transpride. I spent years in that city working on queer issues and queer liberation, and I hate that a tool that can (and will) so easily be used to abuse trans people has been written by someone who claims to fight for us.

Please, developers. Remember that nobody's safety is less important than your ego - it's okay to create something then go "oh shit sorry yeah my bad" and stop it.

It's ok to realise/admit that you don't know everything. It's ok to be wrong and learn from your mistakes.

It's not okay to ignore the overwhelming feedback from the community you claim to be fighting for, nor to try and guilt people into not being open with this feedback if you're running a public service.

Sigh.
