this is a prediction and i hope it stays true, I THINK and hope that the homestuck fandom is the last fandom im "invested in" if that makes sense
that doesn't mean i'll stop liking things and making fan art and stuff (duh) I guess i mean this in regards to fandom culture as it is now. IT FEELS DIFFERENT

and not to be cliche but everyone in fandoms now feels like theyre "normies"?? Like, fandom feels like HIGHSCHOOL now, people are starting nonsense discourse and rumors, fan art feels souless now and more people are making it to be popular rather than it just being fun or trying to participate with others to celebrate something they like, there being different posses/closed off groups of friends that EVERYONE knows, there being "popular girls" and people wanting to be like them (everyone wants to be an e celebrity now), everyone that doesnt make fan made media expecting and feeling entitled for other people to do it for them ITS JUST UGH!!
just aint fun anymore, fandoms arent fun and i just dont wannt socially participate in them outside of myself and my fave artists. (with one of them being someone i wanna keep distance from)

the current safe haven for people who wanna have fun without drama seems to mostly be the slime asmr community currently, and non political "moe" youtubers who cover otaku stuff. its pretty niche but its better than the alternative if you wanna fun place to rest online
minecraft youtube is also pretty good

as for stuff i currently like, my lack of desire for HARDCORE social interaction is probably going change how i do things in relation to stuff i like.
its already happened with fear and hunger as well, i enjoy it and ship characters without overthinking it and i make fanart ehen i feel and will still post it of course

So I started up the oven, I set the timer, and then when the timer went off, I opened the oven and there was nothing inside. I had left the food on the counter! I exclaimed, "Adam, why are you like this?" And now I'm back to playing Fear and Hunger for another 20 minutes.

I slept so poorly last night. I went to bed at 10pm and fell asleep after 2am. I was supposed to wake up at 5am, but let me tell you, that did not happen. No idea why. Last night I played Fear and Hunger 2 while hanging out with @PapiKitsune and I kept having to pause to take deep breaths. And he kept saying, "But you haven't even fought anyone yet!" 😹 It's the anticipation though!!!

That's why I compare it to Undertale (which I did play), though there are other games it compares to as well.

F&H breaks the rules of how a game is expected to be played, regularly and repeatedly. A player must constantly be thinking outside the box. This is a required skill to get any of the endings.

What Disco Elysium and F&H have in common for me, I think, has something to do with grim failure told to a good storyline.

In Disco, it's Harry who faces failure, not the player.

In F&H, watching the player themself fail repeatedly, while their characters suffer intensely, yet both successfully persevere, that's the deeper theme I'm connecting with.

Not to mention just such interesting game design and worldbuilding. And player commentary and reactions tend to be hilarious.

In both games, there's always something new to see, no matter how many times I've seen it played.

Set up a page for my game on Game Jolt and promptly got kicked out for violating TOS in regards to nudity and sexual themes. After a very confusing message exchange over why stuff like #FearandHunger (❤️) is fine there, I realized that the place is just a crapshoot. I suppose some games get to stay, because they earn money, even if they are in direct violation of TOS. From what I heard, a lot of devs have given up on the platform entirely.
Oh well, time to figure out Steamworks.
