The first day of #rdade2026 in Potsdam featured inspiring talks by Kerstin Schneider on the planned Research Data Act (#FDG, #Forschungsdatengesetz) and by Wolfgang Marquardt on the future of #NFDI, followed by a lively panel discussion. And fruitful discussions at our poster “Standards for a FAIR data Future: How NFDI utilises standards developed by RDA” (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18555633) Looking forward to day 2.

@NFDI has participated in the association hearing by @bmftr_bund regarding the planned Research Data Act (#FDG, #Forschungsdatengesetz). In its statement, NFDI1. welcomes the establishment of a German Center for Microdata (#DZM),
2. demands standardization of secure processing environments (#SPE) and
3. encourages additional steps towards the more general availability of #metadata.Read the full statement here:

Concluding our series on the status of the 🇩🇪 #Digitalstrategie (see previous post https://nfdi.social/@nfdi4immuno/111719260750940903):Research Data Act (#FDG, #Forschungsdatengesetz) [Page 89; Q73] @bmbf_bund is evaluating how to address the demands identified in the public consultation conducted 04/2023, there are plans for another round of stakeholder involvement. A final draft of the @Bundesregierung is scheduled for Q4/2024.

What is the current status of all the projects in the #Digitalstrategie of the 🇩🇪 @Bundesregierung ? Thanks to a "brief" inquiry (96 pages 😉) in the #Bundestag, we now have a broad overview, which includes: #OpenData, #DataCompetency, #EHDS, electronic health records (#EHR) for research, data infrastructure for university medicine, the Research Data Act (#FDG), #NFDI and #GaiaX. We will unpack some of them here this week, the complete document can be found under:

The 🇩🇪 Action Plan for the 🇪🇺 European Research Area (#ERA) has now been published by the @Bundesregierung . On Page 11f, Activity Area 3, section (b) describes the measures to optimize access to data from and for research: 1. Research-friendly legislation to build a 🇪🇺 #DataEconomy (#DA, #ODD, #DGA, #FDG) 2. Build synergies and interoperability between the services of @NFDI and #EOSC 3. More efficient data use in health research (#EHDS, #GDNG).

While the further timeline for the legislative process is currently unclear, the #RfII is - according to the article - working on a systematic evaluation of the replies, which will be published by the end of June.
