Last week I hit a new milestone in the classic NES game #Faxanadu -- beat the game and all the bosses in the game in under 40 minutes. A year ago I didn't even think that was possible, but with the encouragement of a small speedrunning community I'm now at that level, and really enjoying it.

A year ago I started feeling like I'd like to rebuild my NES collection that I'd let go of in the 90s. But I didn't want to get into yet another hobby unless I knew I'd stick with it for a bit, so I decided if I was still interested in a year's time, I'd pursue.

This week I ordered via eBay and received my new-to-me NES and a couple of the games I had growing up. I don't think I'll be amassing a big collection, just enough to make up for what I gave away long ago.
