I've used Fawkes, which is a tool which poisons any image's data, and obfuscates everything that might be in an image by adding extra pixels and shifting a few to different directions.

The final result is something that's completely different from the original, but barely is noticeable to the human eye. - and a win for privacy.

So even if you have #nobot in your bio, you can be a bit more assured that your face won't be trained for any AI system.

@martinsteiger bei Erneuerung von Swisspass (vor Okt 23!) ein bearbeitetes Foto eingereicht. Das Programm #Fawkes war eines der ersten Beispiele für #adversialmachinelearning und stört durch Hinzufügen von fürs menschliche Auge nicht erkennbare Pixel die autom. Gesichtserkennung.
Prompt wurde das Foto wegen "Format-Fehler" zurückgewiesen. Ein Handy-Schnappschuss dieses Fotos ab Bildschirm mit identischem Format und Auflösung wurde dann angenommen :) (weil die #datapoisening Pixel wieder weg?)

Image "Cloaking" for Personal Privacy

At a high level, #Fawkes "poisons" models that try to learn what you look like, by putting hidden changes into your photos, and using them as Trojan horses to deliver that poison to any facial recognition models of you. Fawkes takes your personal images and makes tiny, pixel-level changes that are invisible to the human eye, in a process we call image cloaking.

Sharing a photo cloaking application I've been using for a while, Fawkes.

Essentially it does cool stuff to images of faces so the cloaked image can't be used to train machine learning models what you look like.

The only thing missing from Fawkes is a mobile app. I'd love to be able to use it on the go.. or even have a camera app with the functionality built in.

Honestly the idea of this sounds like something Apple might be into... (I can only live in hope..)

The difference, however, is that if and when someone tries to use these photos to build a facial recognition model, "cloaked" images will teach the model an highly distorted version of what makes you look like you.
