Father of the Bride isn't some silly 90s comedy about a middle-aged man who goes crazy after he finds out his little girl is getting married.
I mean, sure, it's that too, but most importantly, it's a social commentary on the evils of Capitalism.

The father in question, played by Steve Martin, is at one point arrested and thrown in jail for protesting against Big Corpo.

PS: The movie and its sequel were made by Sandollar Productions, a company co-founded by Dolly Parton.
