Had to end the Fate of Cthulhu campaign I was running early, today. Which sucks and is damaging to my confidence, but ultimately for the best since people were not having fun with it.

Need to work on my improv skills, and as much as I love the game Fate combat always seems to devolve into a bit of a slog? I feel like that ought not to be so and yet yet it appears to be.

On the bright side, now I have more time over the next couple of months to work on the next campaign, once the group's main game wraps up. That one is going to be Jenna Moran's Glitch RPG, though, which is daunting after the failure of this one. #FateOfCthulhu, #FateRPG, #GlitchRPG

Does anyone know a good resource for getting a bit of a feel for Edinburgh or Auckland in a short period of time? I am running a Fate of Cthulhu RPG campaign and the players will be visiting at least one of those cities in the next week or two. I would like to make the experience a bit more vivid than what I would pick up from reading their articles on Wikipedia.

Of course currently we're prepping to run Fate of Cthulhu, where the party will be delving into Arkham and Miskatonic University to root out a hacker whose publication of rituals to control ghouls will ultimately doom humanity.

Just have to sort out who and what else they might encounter along the way #FateOfCthulhu #FateRPG

When I began DMing I tried to railroad and not railroad at the same time. I tried to guide into scenes as good as I could without forcing a lot.

Until I forced a scene really bad.

And I went into the other point and I finished into #PbtA and then I learnt how not to prepare and I got used and comfy by not preparing.

But I felt not so right sometimes.

I felt lost, but could not say how or why.

Recently I found #TrophyDark and #TrophyGold #FateOfCthulhu #CarvedFromBrindlewood ...

Ways to prepare not tight at all, but having some kind of prep.

And it clicked si well. I have DM'd things like #BlackSwordHack by facing the prep as a Trophy incursion, for exemple.

And that is the greatest change I've got: learning how to prep as it fits with my DMing
