Usually our laptops can't handle more than a few weeks before #something requires a reboot.
"Windows Fast Start-up" caused this. It's enabled by default. When you press "Shut down", it hibernates instead to save time on bootup.
Booting up will return all those insignificant bugs you have collected over time, until something breaks.
When I deactivate it for a user, he or she will stop dropping by my office every other week.

#TIL about #MSWindows10 #FastBoot, a.k.a. #FastStartUp. It reduces the time the computer needs to start up.
Well. That tech causes the computer kernel not to reload or install drivers. It will use the exact same drivers as used when you told the computer to shut down.
To get Windows 10 to load updated drivers, instead of shutting it down and starting it up, you have to tell it to restart.
