I'm sure Nitin Gadkari doesn't care. But making #FASTag compulsory is yet another ill conceived idea thos government has thoppofied on us. A gradual increase in the number of FASTag lanes till everyone saw the value and switched would have made sense. But no. This government's USP is disruption. And if I had so much trouble, imagine the frustration folks using toll booths on a daily basis must be feeling!

A small rant on #FASTag.
It is a joke. The government would like you to believe that you'd just zoom in and out of a toll booth, but the reality is completely different.
1. It's not automated. You still need an operator to validate the tag has money in the wallet. So, how's it "fast"?
2. Faulty scanners. Oh this was the most frustrating bit. First you wait for the scanners to read the tag. The don't. Then the operator asks you to move the car forward and then reverse. And then he gives up...

As I heard from drivers:
In the absence of toll slips drivers are unable to claim tolls from customers/aggregators.
Result-> Aggregators demand whole FASTag statements, affects switching between Ola/uber for rides.
Affects individual trip billing -> varying charges+ delay
