Privacy rights make it harder for fascists to achieve their end goals.
They want to create autism lists
They want lists of those “likely to seek abortion”
They want lists of trans people
Nazis also created lists. Of Jewish people, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and anyone who spoke out against the “regime”.
They will not use these lists for good. Patients deserve privacy.
The latest violation?
“A 2024 federal rule that shielded reproductive health information from disclosure to law enforcement when care was legally obtained, such as in another state with abortion access, was struck down by a federal judge in Texas on Wednesday evening”
Even if you legally obtain an abortion, they will be able to access that information.
They want to squash our reproductive freedoms.

I keep asking myself the question of what I would do to stand up against #fasicsm and other #socialrights issues when I would really have to suffer real consequences from my actions.
Frankly, I do not know the answer. I would love to be able to wholeheartedly answer: to hell with consequences. But I can't. I'm not sure. I can try. So far my track record is not very shiny. Maybe it's time to prepare myself. And maybe thinking about it and being honest to myself is the first step.

3.) #Gender is not a binary. Gender is a galaxy, a multi-dimensional expansiveness. Trans people cannot and should not be restricted or repressed to soothe the fears of #queerphobes and #transphobia. Trans people deserve #BodilyAutonomy, even and especially trans children. To be openly trans is to be alive. To be affirmed in one's gender is to be alive.

1.) #PeopleWithDisabilities are inherently worthy as human beings. They deserve care and protection. How we treat #DisabledPeople determines how we treat all of society. (And yes, that means #CovidIsNotOver and you should #WearAMask.)

Went to an #antifa / #nonazi march today. I've been to a couple this year. The tone changed drastically. At the beginning, when there were surprisingly many people it was all like "we are more", "we will and can stop the advance of #fasicsm". Today it was more like: "we would like to stop it, but we are not sure if we will succeed. And if not we must form a #resistance"
This scares me a lot. The more I think about it the scarier this mood change becomes. #germany #depol

So what does this all mean?
It means that #Marx and #Riccardo, and #HenryGeorge were all correct.
There is no workable system of #Capitalism that will not become some form of #Manorialism then #LateStageCapitalism and finally #Fasicsm.
Here I'm defining Capitalism specifically a any system that allows arbitrarily large wealth accumulation.
I do not think there is any possible purely #political nor purely #economic solution. Rather, every solution proposed must inherently be a #PoliticalEconomy that is resistant to the accumulation of power and a political system that is resistant to the accumulation of power.
Do I think #Marxist #Socialism is such a system? No! Absolutely not. I think #HenryGeorge was prescient when he called #Marxism a recipe for #Authoritarianism.
Marx never proposed a political system that was even moderately robust to corruption.
Likewise, I think preventing returns to capital is bad. We _want_ individual people to invest their surplus into making bursts of short term profit. That is the actual value add capitalism brings.
Assuming you had a political system resistant to corruption, then #Taxes are a possible solution. One could, for example, place a small tax on wealth, creating gravitational pressure of the returns to capital. Set to the right level, this should be able to resist massive wealth accumulation.
I'll have to save my thoughts on political systems to later.

I wrote up some history of the fundamentalist right - who control today's Republican party - working to ban in-vitro fertilisation, and why they do it.
Spoiler: they've been after IVF for a _long time_. None of this is new; it's just the first time they've managed to implement it.
And naturally, it's the stepping stone to banning birth control.
