The priest had been summoned the day before at the German command, where he was held, under suspicion of helping the partisans.
His body was dumped in a mass grave.

Most of the Italian-sponsored Domobranci fighters were handed over by the British to #Tito's partisans in 1945.

A former Royal Navy soldier, he joined the Resistance after the September 1943 armistice with the Allies.
He was captured by the enemy & executed aged 21.

The secretary of the metalworkers' union (FIOM) in Turin, he was kidnapped by the "squadristi", tied to a lorry and dragged around the city. He could be identified only by the union card in his pocket.
