Although I've not been a paid #Fark subscriber for some time I still occasionally visit and marvel at the quality of the comments there.
This article by Fark's founder Drew Curtis

And there was a lot of nostalgic stuff at #FaRK that was kinda cool.
There was a Herby. A Knightrider plus David Hasselhoff cosplayer. The zombie parade had a headcrab from Half Life. There were a lot of post-apocalyptic cosplays, probably thanks to the local FATE larp. A fantasy club was selling old books from one of my favourite TTRPG universes (DSA). ❤️
So, many reasons to feel nostalgic. But it was more of a "detached niceness" to recognize these things.

This saturday, I was very lucky to visit #FaRK, which is a huge fantasy and RPG convention in #Germany. It's also not that commercialized (run by volunteers, no entry fee, lots of cosplayers for the fun of it, mostly small artists).
So a place very rife for nostalgia, one would think.

Wir schlugen gestern unser Zelt auf der #FaRK in Landsweiler-Reden auf und haben viele Projekte mitgebracht. Nachdem unsere Technik den Segen eines Priesters des Adeptus Mechanicus empfing, konnte nichts mehr schief gehen.
Wir sind auch heute da, unter anderem auch als Cosplay Doc. Wenn euch also was klemmt oder zu locker ist, schaut einfach vorbei.

Im #Saarland findet dieses Wochenende wieder die #FARK statt, eine Messe für #Fantasy, #Endzeit, #Steampunk und dergleichen. Wohl auch mit viel #Cosplay und #Basteln. Eintritt ist frei.
Das ist direkt um die Ecke vom Bahnhof #LandsweilerReden, also auch gut mit Öffis zu erreichen. Neben dem #Godwana Dino-Park.

Yes, almost exclusively. Occasionally stuff will redirect from there to a more trad website or blog, but social media, in my case #tiktok , has been fantastic for local and international news.
#youtube is still okay for reposts from some Trad media sites and streaming, as well as niche hobby news. #mastodon seems to be okay for other reports, but it's about as good as an aggregator like #fark
