Il 18 settembre ci ritroviamo a Bologna per guardare insieme Fanon, il film di Jean-Claude Flamand-Barny dedicato alla vita e al pensiero di Frantz Fanon.

Psichiatra, filosofo e scrittore, Fanon arriva nell’Algeria colonizzata dalla Francia e lavora nell’ospedale psichiatrico di Blida.
Tra le sue corsie, Fanon incontra il colonialismo anche dove si è meno abituatə a cercarlo: nella sofferenza psichica, nei rapporti tra le persone, nell’immagine che si ha di sé e dell’altrə.

Guardare Fanon oggi significa anche tornare alle domande che attraversano il suo pensiero: cosa significa curare dentro un sistema che produce sofferenza? Quali tracce lascia il colonialismo nelle persone e nelle società? E cosa significa liberarsi, individualmente e collettivamente?

Sono domande che oggi, soprattutto a Bologna, assumono un peso particolare. A poche settimane dalla morte di Abderrahim Fakir, tornare a Fanon significa anche interrogarsi sul rapporto tra cura, violenza e istituzioni, e su quali corpi continuino a subirne più di altri le conseguenze.

Dopo la proiezione ci sarà un momento di confronto collettivo, costruito insieme a oltreoceano.eu , plat_interventosociale e yalla_bo , che vedrà anche la partecipazione di professionistə della salute mentale, tra psicologə e psichiatrə, per partire dal film, dalle riflessioni di Fanon e dalle domande che continuano a riguardare anche il nostro presente.
