@jik In 2008, the far right held a party when #Fannie Mae and #Freddie went into conservatorship. The giddy attendees expected them to be quickly shuttered and replaced by the “unleashed” market.

But, the unleashed market avoided mortgage securities that weren’t gov’t backed and, 16 yrs later, F&F are still in business, generating billions in taxpayer profits..
