I fear our local Subway is not long for this world. It used to be madly busy, but since their recent renovation they've been almost deserted. I'm guessing that the previous owner sold-up and the new owner(s) don't understand that fucking with the menu is a good way to drive your customers away.

My son likes one particular item. We discovered a few weeks ago that it's no longer available. He's found something else on the menu he sort of likes, but tonight we were told that rather than picking your own salads they're now standardised. Which defeats the entire purpose of Subway.

It's already losing them customers. Upon hearing this the woman in front of us immediately left. Fortunately, my son doesn't have any salad so it didn't affect him.

But really, within the space of a few weeks they've gone from people being forced to line up outside (20+ deep) at 6pm on a Friday, to almost nobody lining up. I wonder if the new owners will wise-up, sell-up, or close-down. My expectation is the latter.

I hope my son can find somewhere else to eat.
