Finde #FamiliesLikeOurs gut. Interessante Geschichte, die Klimawandel und Migration verbindet. Auch spannend und ergreifend. (Ein bisschen weniger Teenagerdrama hätte nicht geschadet.)

Families Like Ours, dystopian drama from Denmark
Families Like Ours looks at a climate future when Denmark is shut down and abandoned because of rising oceans. The story isn’t about climate change, but about how individual characters respond to the nationwide climate-driven crisis.

Thanks #ThomasVinterberg for quietly brilliant provocative series #FamiliesLikeOurs - as much about class, entitlement and #refugeestatus as #climatebreakdown
Can't share BBC iplayer link, but more here

#ClimateDiary “Sea level rise will cause ‘catastrophic inland migration’, scientists warn”
Dire prospects. But also: sea level migration will not happen in isolation. It will be in combination with heat and agricultural failure migration and economic collapse. Just like #FamiliesLikeOurs is so misleading. It’s not like everything else will stay the same, just rising sea levels.
Maybe too obvious and I guess researchers have to focus on one phenomenon, but still.

"...neither Denmark’s drowning nor its mass evacuation is terribly likely. But that certainly isn’t the case for the Kiribatis and Vanuatus of the world" (@newscientist review)

In case you have the chance to watch this serie.
The story takes place in a near-future Denmark, where a teenager's life is turned upside down by rising sea levels, forcing her to leave the country with her family.

Thomas Vinterberg on His First TV Series and His Friendship With Lars von Trier: ‘We Have Some Fights Occasionally’
#IndieWire #Features #InterviewsCelebrityInterviewsInsiderTakes #FamiliesLikeOurs #Film #Interviews #LarsvonTrier #ThomasVinterberg -
"Vinterberg chose not to go big on scenes of submerged streets and homes.
Instead, he focused on the months leading up to the climate disaster and their toll on people."What you don't see is more scary than what you see," he said, adding that his team consulted climate scientists and reached out to the Danish ministry of foreign affairs for advice on how to convincingly portray the mass evacuation."
