You might not, but me I still mourn the loss of #JuiceWRLD - in all his drug addicted, anxiety ridden, auto-tuned glory. He had lots to say! Sometimes, even in #falsetto. No doubt he would've said a lot more had he lived. RIP.

The keen ears at @blogamf hipped me to #CrammedDiscs’ 2022 release of this lost 1987 album by Congolese-born/Belgian-raised #MauricePotoDoudongo. It's future forward electro-funk, ala #ZazouBiyake - or #Prince, fr christs sake! - but steeped in the rhythms and textures of #CongoleseRumba and #Soukous. Rich, joyful, and really quite beautiful, this one gets me moving and still sounds relevant today.

The life struggles behind #Debarge couldn't be more tragic - it's astounding that to date only Bobby has passed. But on record, their collective voices were nothing short of angelic. "I Like It" was a great illustration of just how celestial Randy, Bunny, & Eldra could be when they flew high.

But that says nothing of his graceful musical instincts and beautiful #falsetto, still utterly captivating as he nears 8 decades on this planet. His take on #JBlackfoot's "Taxi" (from 1993, produced by #RobinTrower) lends quiet desperation to the original. This one's always on repeat somewhere in the back of my mind.
