Yesterday's news: sickness absence, driven in large part by a surge in mental health issues, is costing the UK economy £212 billion a year.
Today's news: NHS mental health services are closing.
If someone thinks that's going to save money, they are going to be sorely disappointed.
Also, quite apart from the money, it's just utterly cruel on a human level.

The hype I am seeing for "refurbished" or "renewed" hard drives for NAS usage seems like false economy to me. These drives need to be a heaps cheaper than they are to be the bargain that youtubers and tech blogs are saying they are. Some of these drives have in excess of 10,000 power on hours. It's been spinning for over a year and you're paying 80% of the original price?!

My workplace - in what I presume is a brilliant attempt at cost-saving - has changed its toilet-roll supplier to a company supplying something so diaphanous that it lacks the tensile strength to actually turn the giant roll in its dispenser. I now have to spend an extra 5 minutes a day finger-banging a bogroll dispenser to climax. I’m fairly sure my wasted time costs more than the pennies they have saved on sanitary products, but what do I know? #FalseEconomy

There is no authentic reason why you can't afford pasture-raised meat. Feedlot meat is so hideously trashy that it ends up being a #FalseEconomy.
Quality #PastureRaised #Meat may cost slightly more by the pound, but a smaller quantity really goes farther in the kitchen.
#Feedlots, on the other hand, are not just cruel, but the conditions at them are gross. The product it puts on the shelf is garbage.
Going #Vegan, #Vegetarian or #Pescetarian is also an option.
