Well, fuck. Anyone know how to prevent false alarms from smoke detectors? I live in a new-ish house (5 years old) and it has interconnected smoke detectors in all rooms. We were woken up at 5 am by them going off, for absolutely no reason. It really freaks out the kids!
Every one of them has triggered at least once since we have lived here, evidenced by the 'ready' light blinking red instead of green.

I am not sure if I mentioned a smoke detector in my apartment going nuts. There was a 5 time signal and then silence. This happened to another apartment (or all of them) now once a day. Guess it was the central one which is connected to all apartments.
I only waited this shrieking sound happening in the middle of the night.
Guess what? It was 4:25 a.m.
I notified my landlord.
