Here's an odd argument from Cavendish, Observations, ch. 2.11:
1) God has been worshipped from eternity.
2) God cannot worship Godself.
:. 3) Something other than God existed from eternity.

She adverts to divine simplicity in support of (2) but offers no support for (1).

Cavendish's official view is that Nature is eternally created by #God—a view also common within the Islamic #falsafa tradition—though I sometimes wonder how serious she really is about the God stuff.
