Playing vanilla #Fallout4 #AnniversaryEdition #SurvivalMode no longer works for me as a palate cleanser, it’s just an experience so empty it’s soul-sucking
That’s how good my #ModCollection is getting (at least as far as the exact, unique post-apocalyptic wasteland experience that I personally happen to be looking for goes; ymmv), that playing without it is unbearable, as if most of the game is missing
But still 19 more mods left to be updated

I know I’ll eventually be happy about this week’s #Fallout4 regular update, because now I have 1024 archive slots instead of 256 for my #ModCollection but in the short term I still have 32 definitively incompatible mods waiting to be updated before I can even get back to playtesting

My #Fallout4 #ModCollection has been coming along really well. At least until yesterday, while playtesting at the Very Hard difficulty, when every #MutantMenagerie creature suddenly became a Scorchbeast-Queen-Level-Bulletsponge attacking at twice the rate of vanilla hostiles.

I step out of Vault 111 into #ApocalypticWinter and it’s a balmy -40. I get frostbite before I’ve even left the grounds, back out the gate to return home to Sanctuary Hills, which in this weather offers no sanctuary. I drink the last of my purified water, the rest of it has already frozen solid. I know that I am so completely screwed I should have just stayed in cryo-stasis.

Had an amusing time experimenting with a new how-many-Creations-does-it-take-to-make-Survival-Mode-tolerable challenge
It can be played a couple different ways:
- the least number of Creations, for a nearly vanilla survival experience and most stable gameplay
- or the most number of Creations, for the best overall survival experience but high-risk of stability issues and frequent crashes, adding to the vanilla survival mode angstbut only mods from the new Creations store, with or without the Anniversary Edition’s CC bundle
I made it as far as Level 48, claimed every settlement in the Commonwealth, only pursuing the Minutemen faction quests… but damn-it-all I miss A StoryWealth

Which one do I like more? Which one gives me a bigger reason to rebuild the Commonwealth? They’re such completely different mods, taking mutually exclusive and incompatible approaches to settlements-gameplay, and yet their intentions feel very much the same

#Fallout4 #AnniversaryEdition #SurvivalMode is only very-slightly less annoying than #VanillaSurvivalMode
I mean. I’ve made it as far as Level 64, fully aligned to #BrotherhoodOfSteel before the jaw-clenching tedium has forced me to downgrade and revert to #AStoryWealth #aSWSurvival
It really is just a better survival experience, with all the bells and whistles

One thing I’m really not enjoying about the #SimSettlements2 “going to war” questline is how captive settlers, allies, and even your own soldiers keep turning hostile on you (probably because of script-lag)
It keeps causing some serious, game breaking glitch-outs, such as the inevitable consequences of your posse of followers mercilessly executing the captive settlers you just liberated from the Gunners
