I'm probably not going to watch a lot of what I intended from Winter 2024. I paused quite a few Fall 2023 anime and I still have a lot of episodes to watch.
I think what I'm going to do is start Dungeon Meshi and Sengoku Youko from winter (the latter of the two, I already read the manga many years ago, so I know the story, at the very least, will be great. Adaptation-wise, it remains to be seen when I watch it). But I'm not going to start anything else from winter until I finish my fall shows. These two are the shows I'm most interested in from this season, so I'm 100% watching them.
Winter will end up as the season I watched the least in since I started following seasonals, most likely, but it is what it is. Hopefully I can finish fall as well as these 2 anime, and then get back in full force for spring! :umbreonhype:

You know how I use the Extra Fields to write whatever it is I'm currently watching?
Apparently I'm watching so many this season that it doesn't even all fit (there seems to be a character limit). I had to shorten some of the titles.
And this is after I had already dropped and paused a few anime that I initially said I was going to watch.
Is this Mastodon telling me I'm watching too much stuff? :zerotwoThink:. I'm not even up to date with them, tbh.

Finally got through all the episode 1s for #Fall2023Anime season I wanted to watch. Now to watch a few further and figure out which ones to discuss with @station on the Otaku in Review Fall preview podcast, and which I will be watching weekly.

Stardust Telepath Episode 1:
This was really cute. Both Umika and Akeuchi are super adorable and sweet characters. It's an energetic and amusing show.
Definitely checking out a 2md episode even if its more of a binge watch down the road.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You Episode 1:
Laughed my ass off almost the whole episode. Holy hell was this funny. Loved the MC, and the first 2 girls, but that god of love was hilarious.
Hope it can hold up to a full season, cuz this is a weekly watch for sure.

Butareba: The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig Episode 1:
This is the dumbest shit I've seen and yet somehow not the worst thing I've watched this season lol. Weirdly ecchi, but surprisingly decently animated. Im shocked by its quality of production considering this premise. 🤣
Its really isnt bad per se, just really, really stupid. I might do a 2nd episode, but only if I feel like making time.

Tearmoon Empire Episode 1:
Great first episode. Loved the first several manga volumes, so was hyped for this one. It definitely didn't disappoint.
The voicework is well paired to the characters so far, and its fun. Laughed a lot and I love how Mia's redemption is really just her wanting to avoid her future death again. This will be a weekly watch for me.

I Shall Survive Using Potions! Episode 1:
After reading some of the light novel and manga, this is exactly what I expected.
Will check out episode 2, but I probably won't watch this weekly, but will def binge later.

The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess Episode 1:
I've read the first volume of the light novel, and this first episode is just as stupidly fun. It's ridiculous, a tad ecchi, and high energy. It won't be the best show of the season, but should be fun throughout.
Looking forward to episode 2

Our Dating Story: The Experienced You and The Inexperienced Me Episode 1:
Yawn. This MC is so boring. Not sure how I feel about Runa's portrayal either. Everyone is so shallow... and she just basically said it herself in the show...
Didn't laugh. Didn't even chuckle... didn't find any of their relationship endearing. Kind of just stared at the show until it ended.
I'll be not continuing this.

16bit Sensation: Another Layer Episode 1:
The MC's voice was grating on my ears. 2ay too much screaming from her, and I checked out way too often. Doubt I'll even watch a 2nd episode

I’m Giving the Disgraced Noble Lady I Rescued a Crash Course in Naughtiness Episode 1:
That felt like a whole lot of meh. Like it's cute and kind of wholesome... but none of the jokes landed properly, and the MC's voice throws me off.
I might give this an episode 2, but I was unimpressed

I'm in Love with the Villainess episode 1:
Hmmm... it has funny moments, but a full length episode just felt like too much by the end. Not sure if the show will slow its pacing a little as it goes on... but could have used this as maybe a 12 min per episode show. That way the jokes don't get to repetitive in a single sitting.
I'll give this one more episode to make a decision on it.

The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy Episode 1:
Seems to be pretty standard demon lord reincarnation fare, with ecchi. None of this first episode did anything to help engage me as a viewer. Pretty forgettable.
Might do a 2nd episode, but unsure.

A Playthrough of a Certain Dude's VRMMO Life Episode 1:
As generic as an anime can be for a VRMMO show... But I didn't hate it... It just didn't garner much reaction from me as I watched it.
Kind of surprised this is even a series in this stacked Fall line-up.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode 1:
Beautiful, emotional, such a great job of adapting the manga. This was one of my most anticipated of the season, and it does not disappoint.
I think the emotions hit harder than the manga. The voice cast definitely helps, as they are top notch. Definitely one I'll be watching weekly.
This is a must watch for Fall anime.

Berserk of Gluttony Episode 1:
Interesting first episode. I was about to start the light novels, but held off to check out the anime first.
1st episode setting up Fate and how he finally determines how the skill he deemed worthless works. Definitely seems like its leading to an OP MC.
I'll check out episode 2 to see if it is worth continuing for the season, or I'll just read the light novels instead.

The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch Episode 1:
Amusing and cute, but not sure how this will hold up for a whole season. Gonna watch episode 2 and see how it goes. Will determine how I approach the show.
