#falkon — Public Fediverse posts

I'm using Firefox (based) browser on most of my computers but whenever I'm on my Slackware, I'm using Fallkon. And have no issues.

Is this the sign for me to switch? No, obviously not, because I also have a Windows machine I have to use (at work) so Firefox is more multi platform option. Plus the synchronization.

But it's nice to use something else.

Using my daily driver (Arch) and suddenly couldn't access my financial services website (on Firefox). Threw a very esoteric error, even in a private window.

Rather than beat my head against the wall, I installed Vivaldi and gave it a whirl. I really like the feel and speed of it, but when I tried to log into the website, it just showed a blank page.

Then I tried Falkon. And Hallelujah, it worked! Now I don't have to wait to invoice my clients or check their records. Big sigh of relief! (And another win for KDE!)

Since #Firefox has decided to shoehorn #AI into their web browser (because that belongs outside of an extension 🙄), I've set up a user.js disabling literally all the ML bullshit for now.

Now I have to decide on which browser to switch to. I'm torn between #LibreWolf and #Waterfox, since both of those seem pretty committed to not doing AI.

And before anyone suggests it, I have a couple Webkit based browsers (#Falkon and #GnomeWeb) to play with, but neither of them is really ready for daily driving.

Also, I have a Blink browser already in #Vivaldi. I don't like that it's not fully open source, but the ad block and such works, it's got no AI, and let's face it, it's pretty.

El navegador Falkon mola un puñao. Así a lo calladito, añadiendo una cosita cada vez, se ha convertido en un navegador magnífico. Siempre lo fue, pero en su última versión me ha sorprendido muy gratamente.
