Yesterday, I attended a presentation on the inhumane working conditions in delivery and transport services by Didem Wagenführer from @WZB_Berlin. It was part of the Digital Neocolonialism series organized by @topio.

I watched it in February and was surprised to see that it now has almost one million views.
It is disturbing to see exploitative working conditions resembling modern slavery happening in plain sight. In many countries of the Global North, migrants are disproportionately affected, including many highly skilled people whose qualifications are not recognized or who have few alternatives.

I've not seen any evidence that much has changed since she wrote this 3 years ago.
Bottom line is, I think we need to be much clearer about what we mean, and not rely on our own jargon to convey that information.
