(1/2) Hey #MobileLinux folks, I haven't been around the community much in ages now and I have a few question to those who followed development more closely. I found a used #Fairphone4 for cheap and while mainline seems to have barely moved since I left (still the same base features missing for any device except the Librem5), Ubuntu Touch might be a good choice on this device. Unfortunately it had major issues last time I used it (see next post)

File entpackt, #fairphone4 in den Fastboot-Modus gebracht (Bootloader war schon vorher geöffnet) und ./flash-all.sh ausgeführt.

Nach dem Flashen fragt die Installroutine auch gleich, ob der Bootloader geschlossen werden soll. Vorbildlich.

Und Reboot mit #iodeOS 7.4 erfolgreich. 🎉

Der Installer von #iodeOS unterstützt das #fairphone4 nicht. Also machen wir es auf die klassische Art via Terminal und fastboot.

Ich möchte mit einem Dateimanager von meinem Android-Gerät auf das NAS (Asustor) im Heimnetzwerk zugreifen können. Ich habe daher CX File Explorer installiert. Leider muss ich zwingend im Verbindungsprofil das Passwort eingeben und dann fragt er nicht mehr danach. Ich kann also "Passwort merken" nicht deaktivieren, weil es dafür kein Kästchen gibt.

Gibt es eine Alternative, die jedes Mal eine Passwortabfrage machen kann, wenn ich darauf zugreife indem ich das Passwortfeld zB leer lassen kann? Hat jemand einen Tipp für mich?

Der erste Versuch mit dem #IodeOS installer mein #Fairphone4 von #CalyxOs zu befreien, scheitert schon mal:

Ich hänge im #FastBoot fest. Jeder reboot ended im #fastboot

Jetzt meint der installer, das handy wird nicht unterstützt :(

Also mal die Manuellen Schritte probieren...

#fairphone4 bekommt jetzt Android 15.
Es kam laut https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairphone_4 mit #Android11 raus. Natürlich hätte das Upgrade für manche User auch gerne früher kommen können aber Hauptsache es kommt und läuft dann auch stabil...

Huch! Ich sehe gerade, dass es für das #Fairphone4 ein #Systemupdate auf #Android15 gibt – offensichtlich wird die Version 14 übergangen.

Es sind 1,58 GB zu laden.

Folgende Neuerungen werden explizit genannt:
* Android 15
* Privater Raum
* Passkey-Integration
* Diebstahlschutz
* viele weitere kleinere Verbesserungen

Der Sicherheits-Patch-Level wird zugleich auf den Stand 5. Oktober 2025 gesetzt.

I managed to install #LineageOS on a #Fairphone4 today! I bought a phone from #Murena and then went from /e/OS to Fairphone stock Android 13 (for compatibility reasons) to LineageOS. #Verizon claims that the device is not supported, and they gave me the runaround when I tried to activate service on stock Android, even though everything just worked on /e/OS. They don't know what they're doing: Everything just works on LineageOS too.

Well, except the stuff that needs Google Play Integrity, since I'm not gonna try to spoof that. I was able to install the #Chargepoint app via #AuroraStore and log on, but it refuses to serve me. Not to worry, though, I have an RFID card coming in the mail for that.

With any luck this device will get me through the next few years.

Well, except the stuff that needs Google Play Integrity, since I'm not gonna try to spoof that. I was able to install the #Chargepoint app via #AuroraStore and log on, but it refuses to serve me. Not to worry, though, I have an RFID card coming in the mail for that.

With any luck this device will get me through the next few years.

I managed to install #LineageOS on a #Fairphone4 today! I bought a phone from #Murena and then went from /e/OS to Fairphone stock Android 13 (for compatibility reasons) to LineageOS. #Verizon claims that the device is not supported, and they gave me the runaround when I tried to activate service on stock Android, even though everything just worked on /e/OS. They don't know what they're doing: Everything just works on LineageOS too.
