Scheint so als würde ich mein Fairephone 5 nicht mehr von der Reparatur zurück zu bekommen. 😢
Da es jetzt schon seit Ende März auf Reparatur ist, habe ich jetzt das Angebot für einen Austausch angenommen. -
@david_bardos I agree with most limitations, but the fingerprint sensor actually works perfectly fine on #UbuntuTouch 24.04 on my #Fairphone5, and the new Qt6-based version of Morph is a significant improvement. But as all the OSes in your list (except postmarketOS), it is dependent on the Android drivers and kernel (via Halium), which at this point is quite outdated. I really enjoy Ubuntu Touch (in fact, I am writing this on UT in the uMastonauts App), but as a daily driver, GrapheneOS is probably a better choice.

Interesting find: The price for FP6 mainboard repairs varies considerably now, suggesting partial repairs are attempted and possible to avoid a complete replacement. Other part repairs are priced at ranges as well, albeit smaller ones. /u

I'm using #fairphone5 with #postmarketos as my dailydriver.. There are a few pains. But I want to share how I solve the main for me. This is audio in calls not working.. What I did is redirect my phone number to a SIP phone number. I configured it in #linphone on #waydroid and with this workaround I am able to make and receive phone calls with audio working in #FP5

I would like to install #Thunderbird on my #Fairphone5 (with eOS latest version, v3.6) but, first, there seems to be two versions (which one is the right one?) and also when I click on any of these apps, I get an error message that says "your application was not found".
would you be able to help? 🙏
Edit: never mind, I logged out and back in of my google account used for the Lounge and it's working now :)
Edit 2 in case anyone else is interested in doing the same: unfortunately I was unable to setup any of my outlook accounts in Thunderbird, because they need some kind of "admin approval" ☹️
if anyone knows of an email client that is non-profit and works for outlook emails with "OAuth2" authentification I'd love to hear about it!

Murena has now made /e/OS Android 16 available for the📱FAIRPHONE 4️⃣ and the📱FAIRPHONE 5️⃣.
This is the COMMUNITY build. Users who bought their FP4 or FP5 with /e/OS pre-installed are on the official build which will get these upgrades OTA later. /u
