@Life_is @daumenlutscher @energisch_ @somlu1968 @fragdenstaat Natürlich geht das auch für das Versenden, mache ich ja ständig so, wenn nötig. Auf dem Handy in #fairemail kann ich dazu einfach spontan Aliase anlegen, die entsprechend eine andere Absenderadresse verwenden. Und in #mutt sowieso schon immer seit 30 Jahren 😄

@9Lukas5 Hm, OAuth is probably a thing here. FairEmail works for me smoothly via IMAP/SMTP and a mailbox.org account, but not using OAuth. So I'm not much help with OAuth.
"message shows up after successful login on the OAuth Website": Is the login done by FairEmail or an external browser? In the second case, transferring the token could be a problem. But that's a wild guess, tho.
Anyone else here in Fedi with some ideas?

I've setup the same Account on my Linux machine with Thunferbird. There it authenticated just fine and let go on. With FairEMail on Android it seems to try to access some other/additional permissions I am not allowed to grant myself.
Anyone know a way to setup this account with FairEmail aswell? 🤔

FairEmail ist für mich ein starker E-Mail-Client für Android
Open Source, privacy-fokussiert, keine Werbung, kein Tracking-Zirkus und trotzdem richtig stark im Alltag. Mehrere Konten, Unified Inbox, Offline-Nutzung und volle Kontrolle, ohne dieses aufgeblasene App-Gefühl.
Wer seinen Mailclient selbst wählen will, sollte FairEmail echt mal anschauen.

Ein neues Pixel 10a wurde soeben mit #GrapheneOS installiert. Getrennte(r) Nutzung und Datenschutz durch das 'Standardprofil' und das 'vertrauliche Profil'. Dazu eine selfhosted #molly / #mollysocket und #NextPush - Instanz für #Molly, #Tusky u.v.m. wie bspw. #FairEmail, #Nextcloud, #KeePassDX, #DAVx5 ...Die Installation dauerte nur ca. 10 Min. per webinstaller 👇

Wow. Kleiner Schock gestern. Kein Zugriff mehr auf meine E-Mails. Hätts gar nicht gemerkt, wenn #FairEmail nicht gemeckert hätte, dass es nen Fehler auf Serverseite gibt. #K9mail hats nicht gemerkt. Es kamen keine neuen Mails rein.
Webmail per #Roundcube hat mir auch nen seltsamen nichtssagenden Fehler geschmissen und konnte auf keine E-Mails zugreifen... Hatte schon Angst mein Hoster hätte äh Probleme mit dem Server...
Aber dann kam es mir. Die Quota des Users war voll ausgenutzt. Kein weiterer Speicherplatz vorhanden. 🫠Danke #FairEmail 👏

Zwischenstand:
Die Einstellungen von #FairEmail gingen sehr einfach im alten Handy zu exportieren, dann per Bluetooth übertragen, und im neuen importiert.Bei #Threema dasselbe. Das ging letztes mal recht einfach, da sehe ich kein Problem.
🤔 Für zwei Apps braucht man #MicroG, die Anmeldung zum Google-Account mit E-Mail und Passwort hat mit Fehlermeldung geendet?

Hier liegt ein neues #VollaPhone Quintus.
Wie übertrage ich alle Dateien vom alten Samsung?
Gibt es eine Möglichkeit die Einstellungen aller Apps zu übertragen?
Die Apps sind: #OsmAnd #Threema #FairEmail #Firefox #NewPipe #Tusky #FDroid #QuickDic #makeAcopy #Öffi und zehn weitere.Die Kontakte waren einfach als .vcf zu exportieren.

Ik kom het niet vaak tegen in mn mail, maar zo'n melding is een van de redenen dat ik ooit voor FairEmail koos.
De email zelf (foto 2, txt only, want ik wil geen ellende) ziet er onschuldig genoeg uit.
(En ik weet t van het bedrijf. Groot en heel ver doorgeautomatiseerd, dus niet te vermijden...)

In order to give some more tips on what to explore next I'd say add @IzzyOnDroid repo to your f-droid install from apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/
Then some nice and accessible #opensource apps are:
@AntennaPod
#auroraStore as a google play alternative,
#catima - a privacy respecting app for lojalty cards,
@davx5app - contacts / calendar sync from your own server if you wish to slowly stop using google for that,
#fairEmail - nice very accessible email client,
#makeacopy - for scanning paper documents,
#newpipe - for playing youtube / bandcamp / soundcloud content,
#openKeichain - for signing / encrypting your emails with fairEmail,
#rsaf - for connecting to various cloud storage services including your own smb / ftp / webdav servers,
sms import export,
Speak that! if the talkback notification presentation is not enough,
walkers guide - nice navigation app
Ytdlnis - an yt-dlp frontent.Perhaps there are more but I have browsed my apps list and recommended what I think is essential.

Ich finde es auch befremdlich, dass ihr zu meinem Leseverhalten Daten erhebt.
Info: Ich habe z.B. 1984 zwei Mal gelesen. Harry Potter mehrfach. Aktuell bin auf einem Stanislav Lem Trip und eh generell seit meinem 7. Lebensjahr Science-Fiction orientiert.
Hoffe ich konnte die verpassten Daten ein wenig ausgleichen.

@stelb Das kann ich komplett bestätigen. Im Oktober 2020 für 6,99€ gekauft und auf Android nichts anderes mehr für Email genutzt. - Ich vermisse nur eine Version für Mac und iPadOS 😢. Aber ich darf ja mal träumen 😁.

@radasbona I am not sure it's dismissed all together. @delta #chatmail relays already support google / apple push messaging and adding @unifiedpush support might be just matter of finding a motivated developer.
Still with imap idle in place the battery and network impact is minimal so it's not seen as very high priority thing. For example there is an email client called #fairEmail which does the same thing, keeping the imap idle connections open whenever it's able to and it's working fine. Within email app it's difficult if not impossible to add push messaging support unless you have control of the server side provider or you wish to trade your privacy. -

De app is er in een gratis versie en een betaalde. Geen idee meer wat de verschillen waren, maar heb ooit er voor betaald: goede software mag best wat kosten. 😉

Net een update voor #FairEmail geïnstalleerd. Al vele jaren mn email client voor Android.
Een absolute aanrader.
