Another Fading Suns session in the can. I was a bit unsure where the game would go, but decided to prep for the bigger campaign goal. Lucky me, they decided to pick it up again!

Once more they found themselves targeted by powerful foes, the Avestite order. It's not really by design, but they have become the recurring bogeymen of the game.

A duel turned into a firefight with snipers. One poor guy was hit with over 35 HP!

Now sirens can be heard in the distance.

Having played a couple of session of my 7th ed BRP hack of Fading Suns I note something interesting about the option to push your roll. Have you ever been in a situation where someone miss their roll and everyone else around the table ask if they can give it a go? I think this mechanic makes the risk/reward conversation more explicit.

I'm once more reading and browsing my Fading Suns collection. Will I bring it to the table this year? Still my lingering question for this game is, how do you compose a group of characters? Nobles with a retinue, yes. But, what else have *you* tried?

@HeyeBodo Dazu kamen noch eine externe Bedrohung, die auf das Imperium einwirkte: Der Dauerkrieg gegen die Symbiots (geklaut von #FadingSuns wie so vieles, was das Imperium angeht: https://fadingsuns.fandom.com/wiki/Symbiots).

Im weiteren Verlauf der Kampagne kamen die SC dahinter, dass ein unbekannter Einfluss mit weitreichenden Mitteln ebenfalls kräftig im Imperium mitmischte und manchen Konflikt anheizte. (2/2)

I've been thinking on Fading Suns again.
How do you make a party in this game? The noble's entourage seem to be a common one, but if there are more than one player who want to play a noble?

Would it be possible to play it troupe style, with everyone rolling up a noble, and then you get to play your noble in different adventures?

If you do that, how do you get people together when they might be spread all over multiple planets?

I have questions.

once again my character finds themselves in an unexpected romance arc at the conniving of another player/GM they weren't expecting or wanting (as a player I have been single for two decades and my sheer incompetence is a large part of this...)

The #BundleOfHolding has a deal on the current edition of #FadingSuns, an older RPG I still have a huge soft spot for. A bunch of recent supplements for $25.

Fading Suns is still near and dear to my heart, kinda like "Warhammer 40,000, but if it was optimized RPG play instead of miniatures" but that does sell it short. It taps into a lot of the “space knights in a crumbling medieval-Europe-in-space setting where almost no one knows how technology works anymore” notes.

Tatsächlich habe ich mich bei meiner #GURPS #PerryRhodan Kampagne auch gerne bei anderen Quellen wie #FadingSuns, #Traveller und #StarTrek bedient. Bei letzteren musste ich allerdings etwas aufpassen, da ein paar meiner Spieler:innen als ausgesprochene Trekkies zu dreiste Kopien von Plots oder Elementen sofort erkannt hätten. 😁

Tag 28: Das gruseligste Rollenspiel was Du gespielt hast.

Interessant wird es, wenn der Grusel unerwartet kommt.

Daher nenne mal ein freies #FadingSuns Abenteuer, was ich für meine #PerryRhodan Kampagne adaptiert habe. Dort ging es um mysteriöse Vorgänge auf einem militärischen Außenposten eines abgelegenen Mondes.

War für Spieler und Spielleiter gleichermaßen gruselig. 😊
