  3. Good morning!

How about some boring #moss! But it's backlit by the setting evening sun and I think it looks so...calming.
This was a lucky find while I was strolling through the garden, the moss was growing on some dry earth. It didn't look like much, but the beauty of macro photography is that even the dullest things can look nice through a macro lens.

    Have a great day! 🙂

  5. Although it's not the time for #mushrooms, I was excited when I found a large patch of these little ones. They were growing on three piles of silage!

I went there early in the morning to take pictures before the sun could make it impossible with too much contrast. It had the additional benefit of dew covering the mushrooms! Negative: tripod, trousers and shoes covered in silage. Oh well.

And a few hours later, most of them were gone again.

  7. I've never seen a #ladybug lay eggs before, so this was a very welcome subject.
Sadly this was a really tiny one, so even at 1:1 magnification it's still small. Behind it you can see the green/white coloured eggs, sheltered in a crack in the wood.

This photo is a #stack of 3 images, since the little bug didn't move much while doing its deed.

Shortly after it was finished and walked away.

  9. These little fellas are quite active at this time of the year!

Their very loud croaking can be very annoying to some people, but I love the sound and enjoy watching hordes of #frogs occupy ponds and lakes.

This one was nicely aligned with the light from the setting sun reflecting in the water. And just look at the eyes! They have such beautiful colours. :blobaww:

  11. Someone is tired...and it seems to be this #seagull!

A while ago I tooted a similar photo of the same #bird, but I wanted to show this one as well, because I like the peaceful atmosphere.

The #WaddenSea is a special place on earth for me. Incredibly fascinating to just walk over the ocean ground.

  14. No photo for a while...but here's one from a few days ago, a beautiful little grape #hyacinth.

Like most people in our area we have quite a lot of those in our #garden. Their wonderful blossoms area such a great sign of early spring.

This specific one grew tall enough for me to get my camera below it and use the leaves in the foreground as bokeh, while a setting evening sun painted everything in a beautiful, warm light.

  16. Here's one of my favourite insect, the lovely #ladybug!

The best ally you can have if you want to get rid of aphids and a universally positive symbol.

This specific one was sitting on one of our trees in the garden and didn't care the slightest about my clumsy way of photographing it.

Wasn't easy, but I wanted to get the grass as a contrasting colour to the red bug and I love how it turned out.

  18. My first #BeeFly this year!

Although they might look intimidating with their long proboscis, they are absolutely harmless (as long as you are not a target for their larvae that is, but if you're not an insect, you need not worry).

They usually just sit or buzz around, looking for some sweet nectar to feed on. And pollinate plants this way! Some even hover while sucking nectar like tiny hummingbirds, which just makes them even more awesome. :blobaww:

  20. Our small little #magnolia is blooming!

So that's todays photo for you, just a small macro straight from the garden. These are always one of the earliest blossoms, they look awesome, they smell so good and I just like their sight. Although this is just a very small plant, not nearly like those massive magnolia trees that you can see occasionally.

Doesn't matter, it gives me joy and I hope it does for you too!

  22. Who's there?

Ah, just this huge beast with the clicky thing again, alright. Continue foraging.

I am like 98 % sure that was the train of thought of this little #wren. Even considering their usual size, this one was tiny. And as a bonus, it wasn't even that shy. Usually they are pretty easily startled and get away, but this specimen just didn't really care.
Still very tough to photograph, because it was always between plants and I just got this one good photo.

  25. It's a sunny sunday and it's officially spring!

What better way to celebrate all that than some wet #moss. Although I have no idea how these things are connected, tbh I just needed a reason to toot this photo. :blobcatcoffee:

So, well, here you go! Moss and water droplets.

  27. Time for another one of those animals hiding under some dead wood.

It's this tiny #millipede! Apparently I scared it, which is why it rolled up into a small ball. You could probably imagine that it's just sleeping, but shortly after I took the photo, the little one took off deeper into the wood.

  29. Today's photo shows some of the fierce wildlife that's hiding under most pieces of dead wood, bark and stones.

It's a small #slug, but right in front of it you can see the real subject of this picture. An even smaller, teeny tiny #snail!

I'll be honest, I didn't even see it at first, it was about 3 mm in diameter. It just looks incredibly cute. :blobaww:
I love the little eyes poking out of the shell.

  31. It's #mushroom time again!

In the last weeks we had a few heavy storms, so quite a lot of trees in a local forest were destroyed. Which turned out to be a great opportunity for some new subjects for me!

One example was this birch, which had lots of beautiful tree mushrooms on it. The photo is a 1:1 magnification of the underside of one mushroom.

The other photo is the making of, which honestly isn't that special. 🙂

  33. This little thing is officially the first #flower, besides some daisies, to bloom in our garden.

As far as I can tell it's a small germander speedwell and it's so tiny. :blobaww:
This is a scale of 1:1, it was very hard to even spot the little thing.

The background are some blades of glass which give the photo some nice additional dynamic, at least that's my humble opinion.

Let's hope for many more flowers soon!

  35. This fragile #moss grew between some larger rocks and it didn't really look like much of a subject to photograph.

But after getting the camera as low as possible to catch the light shining from behind and isolate two of the parts, I actually liked the outcome.

It's minimalistic, it's bright and it shows how small the moss was, because you get some sand as a visual reference on the ground.

    Have a great day!

  37. Look at this freshly hatched beauty!

This #butterfly, which name I sadly do not know, hatched just a short while ago, fell down on this leaf and was in the process of unfolding its body and wings. That's why it still looks a bit..crumbled.

Nevertheless I already live the vibrant blue colouring. So I hope you forgive the little thing for not being in perfect shape yet. 😄

  39. After so many photos of moss, mushrooms and other plant life, I wanted to toot a new animal portrait.

This time it's a well known #EgyptianGoose! This particular one wasn't afraid of me, instead it looked curious as I crept close towards it to get a good frame.

And I'm happy with the result, it shows the nice plumage of this #bird and the beautifully coloured eyes.

  42. I'm so glad that the last few days were sunny and bright, not the rainy grey before that.

So I instantly took my camera for a short trip outside and decided it's time for more #moss yet again!
Especially moss with some water droplets is just so calming...

So many people are confused as to what it is I'm taking photos of when I'm crouched on the ground, moving from left to right to find the perfect view. 😄

  44. I'm outta here!

That's what this little #SummerGoldcrest thought after I desperately tried to get a good photo of this little fluffball, hopping around in the bushes. This is one of two good shots out of more than 80 in total. But it was easily worth the hunt, I'm more than happy with this one and maybe it brings your some joy!

  46. No photo for a few days...but here comes a new one!

I tooted a portrait of this young #deer some time ago, but I also shot it in its full, fluffy glory. This animal was incredibly cute, and it was so curious. Just walking in circles around me, you could pretty much see its thoughts 'I shouldn't get any closer, I really shouldn't, but oh my what is this thing?!'. 😄

  49. Hello! Is it a #mushroom you're looking for? 🎶

If that's the case, well here you go. Another stack, it's actually from the same birch stump as my last photo. This is the top where lots of small fungi are growing. This one in particular caught my eye, because it has these fluffy parts on the left and the interesting lamellae on the right.

This one consists of ~25 single photos, because there is a lot of depth that I wanted to get in focus.
