  2. Study in mice finds certain gut microbes can attack long-chain PFAs (take longer to dispel naturally), taking them out of your body. "Among the most common and dangerous long chains are Pfoa and Pfna, which the microbes expelled at rates of up to 58% and 74%, respectively." Study in humans next. It can take decades for the body to fully expel PFAs naturally. #Forever #Chemicals #PFAs #no #side #effects #gut #microbes #long #short #chain #expel #micro #plastics theguardian.com/environment/20

  3. While #Musk is doing faster, broader, and deeper damage, it's clear that #Trump is still the #lunatic running the #asylum.

He wants to just "take" #Gaza, and permanently #expel all of its inhabitants - which, yes, is a #genocide and a war crime - and says "Everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land".

This is, to put it mildly, insane. Not the kind of stupid insane you normally talk about in #politics. This is the ravings of a Florida Man tweaker after snorting half a pound of "bath salts" and running naked through the alligator pit at Jimmy Jo-Bob's Real Live Animal Park And Beer Tent.

Real war crimes and crimes against humanity, broadcast in advance, with no shame or even recognition that it's controversial, much less a complete violation of international law in any form.

The man needs a padded cell and a first-class ticket to The Hague.

  4. #Tennessee #Republicans #likely to #expel three #Democratic #lawmakers from statehouse

"It's morally insane that a week after a mass shooting took six lives in our community, House Republicans only response is to expel us for standing with our constituents to call for gun control," Jones wrote on Twitter this week. "What's happening in Tennessee is a clear danger to democracy all across this nation."

Republicans Rep. Andrew Farmer, Rep. Gino Bulso, and Rep. Bud Hulsey filed three resolutions on Monday to expel their Democratic colleagues. The resolutions on Monday passed in a preliminary vote along party lines, 72-23.

Only two Tennessee state representatives have previously been expelled by their colleagues since the Civil War era: one in 1980 for soliciting a bribe in exchange for blocking legislation, and another in 2016 after being accused of sexual misconduct by numerous women. Both those expulsions were made with overwhelming, bipartisan votes

  6. His new charges included accusations that he charged donors' credit cards w/o their consent, & reported a bogus $500k campaign loan.

The plea came one day after fellow #LongIsland #Republican #congress member Anthony D'Esposito called on the #House to #expel Santos, saying #Santos was "not fit to serve his constituents."

#Expulsion requires a ⅔ vote. #Republicans hold a 221-212 majority in the House, & at least several dozen would have to vote against #Santos for him to be expelled.

  8. Move by Tennessee Republicans to oust 3 Dem lawmakers startles state

What’s unfolding in the Tennessee State Capitol, where Republican leaders want to #expel three #Democrats over participation in a #protest demanding new #gun-#safety laws, is extraordinary for its political #brazenness and #scope.

“It will echo across the country. I think it will have a #chilling effect on all states where there’s supermajorities or very red states,” Rep. Gloria Johnson, one of the Democrats under threat of expulsion, said in a phone interview Tuesday.

“This is chipping away at our #democracy, there’s no question, because everybody’s going to wonder, ‘am I next?’”

The ACLU in Tennessee also issued a warning the effort “#undermines Democracy.”

“Expulsion is an extreme measure that is used very infrequently in our state and our country because it strips voters of representation by the people they elected,” Kathy Sinback, the executive director of the ACLU in Tennessee, said in a statement.
