A China exit ban is a legal way to stop a person from leaving China. In the past it has been used against business people who have commercial disputes with Chinese companies, and against political dissidents.
An #exitban as an intimidation tool against foreign business people, and particularly #US, is a new and troubling trend. The US has long warned travellers of this issue.
