  1. The Stranger freq.org.uk/reviews/the-strang ..feels less like a moralising history lesson and more like a pained cry of remorse, whose cinematic language has the steely nerve to ask the hard questions and refuse to answer them for you. #existentialist #filmreview #albertcamus

  2. This #Existentialist article sums up some shocking facts of #failed #States in the #USA. Solution? A focus on imaginary issues.

#Missisippi > water system collapse > residents spent weeks collecting rainwater in buckets > mandatory "In God We Trust" classroom posters.

#Alabama > hookworm problem, a disease of extreme poverty eradicated in most developing nations decades ago > abortion bans.

#Louisiana > highest incarceration rate on Earth > Ten Commandments displays in classrooms.

  3. #JaredLeto may think he's #Jesus with hydrating lotion but #TronAres was jolly good fun. The first sequel was #bollocks but this outing was an agreeable pop #existentialist study on #life, #ethics and purpose (with a quality nod to the 80s light cycles, #NIN and #Depeche soundtrack)

  4. I'm a big Camus fan - a new adaptation of The Stranger by Francois Ozon (in French, of course) will premiere at the Venice Film Festival. It stars Benjamin Voisin as Mersault, and it looks great. Psyched to see this one.

  6. Yeah, the world is sucky.

Is it ok to escape reality and watch the #NBA, because that's what I'm going to do tonight.

  7. I studied Albert Camus's work in college, and loved it, and though I'd never seen a photo of him, I'd always pictured him as an old man. Well it's been a few years and I just now found out Camus died at 47, and didn't live to get old. He had two kids he adored, and in every photo, his eyes are smiling, and there is a surprising warmth. He didn't like labels and preferred not to be called an #existentialist. It all really puts his work in a new light.
