John Calvin, early Calvinist, comments on entertaining strangers (Heb 13:2). He says this wasn’t about the rich throwing parties, but about entertaining of the miserable and needy, many of whom then were Christian refugees fleeing religious persecution.
I remember back when conservatives advocated against helping Syrian Christian refugees, one guy said he’d revoke the “man card” of someone who’d flee. Put up your dukes vs. a missile, lad?
How can you entertain angels?

Thomas Haweis, Anglican revivalist, considers corrupt hearts in business. Somethink it’s fine to grab everything if you’re honest. These folks become slaves to this mindset without fully realizing the spiritual danger they are in. Even if they are merely providing for their own houses.
Today, would we instead be told that those who criticize wealth creators (ex: Lausanne) are the ones in sin or danger?

Henry Moncreiff-Wellwood, Church of Scotland moderator, considers Christian history. Early church is full of accounts of alms-giving as an essential part of the character of true believers, enforced as an essential duty.
Today, instead of viewing alms as essential character of Christians, do we besmirch the character of refugees or migrants, as we campaign against them getting near our neighborhood?

We're unsure that #Trump had much to do with that statistic, but he sure hasn't helped the situation.BTW the so-called data the #securityState used to oust the president of #Bolivia was reportedly "flawed". It came out last week while everybody is focused on #coronavirus and the #protests (as important as they are).
