CW: Tech musing subtoot, twist to lie
The only way I can change even a #FOSS program to my wishes, is if I learn how to code & program first, then with that knowledge & skill base set - find a solid start of a program & go from there.
I really do believe in the basic FOSS concept, but not all of us know how to or are ever going to learn to code & to expect we will is rather ridiculous.
I don't expect abled programmer's to know how to & manage to walk a mile or more a day without having anything but deep pressure sensation in their feet, nor to manage gardening & animal tending tasks with that & similarly numb hands, as I do to live decently, as that'd be almost as ridiculous as those programmer's. I'm disabled so instead of that second expectation that they really endure one of my disabilities- I instead expect that eventually they'll get an open source operating system to be compatible with a rugged smartphone that doesn't have added accessibility hurdles like biometric ID scanners, is sold in my country & fits minimally in the center, but better at the lower end, of average smartphone costs.

Have cancelled the arcane shebang as following the instructions, which are meant to be very beginner friendly and optimised for my new version of #LinuxMint, has input of xed admin:///etc/default/grub getting "Could not open the file admin:///etc/default/grub.
xed cannot handle admin: locations."@!** I hate computing.
This stuff is just so very unfriendly to those without the knowledge.
