  3. @thezenlady I am no fan of trump giving handjobs to various village people, but i have to wonder how the #exalted #military #might of #amerikkka would respond to a venezuelan tier1 attack force spiriting djt and his slovenian whore off to a prison in some random suburb outside caracas

This is the session zero of a Exalted (3rd Ed game) based Burning Sands of Creation and it’s run as part of The Paradox Factory.

  5. I backed the "Infernals: Crowned by Hellfire" crowdfunding campaign for #Exalted 3E, though I am not sure when/if I will actually get around to running it. It certainly seems unlikely with my current group.

Still, these books make for good recreational reading, and I like what I am seeing so far:

In the 2E version, the Yozis picked candidates for Infernal Exaltations among people who had a chance for a big, heroic moment, but then failed to jump at the chance. In 3E, their primary criterion is _resentment_ - the candidates must feel that the world is not as it should be, and blame someone else for it.

This works excellently for character motivation - we only need to look at the state of the real world, and we find plenty of reasons to be resentful of something, real and imagined.

And then the Yozis give them the power to so something about it. The goal for the Yozis is no longer "escaping Malfeas" - all but the Ebon Dragon have accepted that as impossible. Instead, they expect the Green Sun Princes to lash out against Creation and the Gods, punishing them in a way that the Yozis themselves are unable to do.

This even allows for sort of "heroic" Infernals - after all, it is quite clear that there is no shortage of people in Creation who are utter dicks.

  7. Exalted: Essence being made as a simplified rule set to act as an intro to Exalted, and then needing a second book for all the stuff that couldn't fit into the first one is the most Exalted thing ever.

  8. @massivelyop Honestly, when Blizz first announced World of Warcraft all those years ago, I hoped that they'd then go on to make World of Starcraft. I'd have played the heck out of that if they had.

Also YES to #Exalted as an MMO. Very yes.
As a super-nerdy #ttrpg aside, I've kinda done the reverse - I slotted the Rift/Heroes of Telara setting into the Exalted system for a homebrew because it fits SO damn neatly. Castes as Callings, charm trees as Souls etc.

  9. CW: slight Arcane S2 spoilers

Arcane is very good, but also pretty bad. You might say that season 2 was worse than season 1 and that it didn't stick the landing, but I actually think this is not the case. Arcane was constructed from the bottom up as a story that fundamentally undermines itself every step of the way. For all the excellent technical animation and character work, it was never going to be truly good.

And Exalted RPG can explain why. I will elaborate.

  10. @craigofinspiration #Exalted . The system was a mess, but the notion that the player characters should have their own agency in shaping the world was mind-blowing to me.

I can't go back to running linear campaigns now.

  11. I am not a fan of #Exalted but I love the first edition artwork, which was basically what you'd get if Larry Elmore and Tom of Finland were fused in a transporter accident.
