After an update to 1.8, my #Volvo #EX30 sometimes seems to think it has a reverse gear. Worse, it thinks it is reversing while it also thinks it is parked. When this happens, I can't bring up any menu until I hit one of two buttons with an X; after that, it properly realizes it is parked.

I can reproduce this by moving forward into a parking spot in a parking lot, bringing up the camera view, and then parking. For some reason, this doesn't cause the issue in my tiny garage.

The #Volvo #EX30 #EV #car has to have one of the dumbest #UX designs I have ever seen. When pressing buttons it helpfully reduces the music volume. Presumably to play some beep or something I don’t know. INCLUDING WHEN YOU ADJUST VOLUME!

Thus making it really difficult to actually adjust the volume to a suitable level. Sometimes it takes some time to bump the music volume back. WTH?!?

Honestly I sometimes think companies don’t even need to hire UX designers. Just bloody use your own product!

I got a new car at the end of February. It's a #Volvo #EX30 and the second #EV I've owned. I'm told they are popular in Europe, but I haven't yet seen another over here in the US. I've taken it on a road trip where I drove about 620 miles one way in a day; don't know why there are reviewers saying the EX30 isn't good for such a trip. The worst part was the car complaining my hands weren't on the wheel when driving on long straight stretches of highway, which got very annoying.

I went for a little Sunday morning drive along the river dike this morning, just for the hell of it but also to get some more miles under my belt to familiarize myself with my new car, and also to maybe find a nice spot to snap some photos. The weather was kinda crumby: overcast with light drizzle... But what better way to show off a Cloud Blue car than under a cloud blue sky?

The most interesting new #EV in US was the #EX30: small, quick, reasonably nice. #Biden tariffs caused #Volvo to move manufacturing to Europe, push back US availability by a year. Like EU regs blocking #Apple features there.

Når vi nå setter oss inn i vår #Volvo #EX30 så dukker ruta jeg lagde med Google Maps på mobilen mens vi spiste frokost automatisk opp i bilen og bilen legger til nødvendige ladestopp langs ruta.

- Elton-appen er superenkel å bruke
- Cirkle K og Mer er 30% dyrere for KwH enn Tesla
- Tesla appen er litt kronglete for ikke-Tesla biler
- Tesla Supercharger gir høyere hastighet på vår bil enn andre ladere (her er det muligens noe tilfeldigheter ute og går)
