des nouvelles de l'open data sur les points de charge pour véhicules électriques. il ne reste plus que 30 000 lignes dans les données ouvertes pour avoir autant d'infos que L'#AVERE n'en connaît : 150 000.
ce qui fait environ 40 000 lieux dédiés à la recharge électrique en #France, métropole et ailleurs inclus. soit pas mal plus que les 8000 lieux (stations de cuisson de l'air à respirer) qui distribuent de l'essence et du diesel.
truc étonnant, en 2025 on installe encore des bornes de moins de 50Kw. ouate de phoque, arrêtez avec ça si vous voulez que les gens s'en servent, qui peut le plus peut le moins mais pas l'inverse.
autre fun fact, 1 borne sur 4 délivre au moins 50kW de puissance, et seulement 5% sont capables de fournir 300kW ou d'avantage.

So it looks like GoSun is getting into the EVSE space. It's a level 1 charger providing 1.2kw but still appreciated. A cheap used EV and one of these could make EV ownership more possible for many of us renters whose landlords won't allow charger installs. Transport Evolved @show many details are still absent, but I do hope to see more of these in the future.

This baby will provide 1W of DC power from any USB-PD source, even a power bank! (It's actually a protocol tester, but what's wrong with a full charge in just a bit over eight years?)

Wiring up a 240 14-50 outlet for my wife's new car. Trying to do everything roughly to code. Had to put it in conduit because of the legacy of the #Chicago fire. Had to use a $125 #gfci breaker because this is a garage. For some reason. Gfci is also on the #evse, so I'm worried about nuisance tripping. I'm an electrical engineer, right, so I can learn this stuff. Right?
Lowes only sells spools of 6/3 8/1 cable. A bit spendy. I used only about 4 feet.

I just heard of another driving force behind Spain's dismal #EV sales - it's FUD & gifting from the main electricity company, #Iberdrola.
Iberdrola is telling its retail customers to watch out for "cheap" charger installation because it's dangerous. Coincidentally they offer a charger (#EVSE) installation package for "only" 3 thousand euros - two or three times what's reasonable.
This is the same Iberdrola that conspired to kill PV in #Spain for a decade.
Sharks.

Pourquoi faut-il toujours trimballer son câble Type 2 en plus du câble constructeur ? Pourquoi tout ça n’est pas mieux foutu ?
Un essai sur comment charger une voiture électrique et pourquoi aujourd’hui c’est assez mal foutu juste parce que les câbles ne sont pas pensés comme il faudrait.

@jswright61 Hardwired is better because there are fewer points of failure (no plug) but worse because it’s less flexible. :-)
In my case, I’m going to buy a 40- or 50-amp #EVSE so I shouldn’t need to upgrade it. I don’t think we’ll ever need a second charger (we hardly ever drive our second car), and I doubt I’ll ever get into a hobby that will require 220V tools, so going hardwired seems like the right tradeoff for me.
I’m looking hard at the #ChargePoint Home Flex because my local utility will give me a $250 rebate; the hardwire version is $50 cheaper than one with a plug. :-)

@TechConnectify Several of them have been working on this and have test locations where #EVSE is installed at #gasStations, mostly in California. A quick search turned up #Shell who recently acquired the #Greenlots network and #BP who recently acquired #AmplyPower starting this process. The other more intractable companies are starting to take notice. They are absolutely moving like molasses in winter about it, though.
