In another example of Every Vote Matters. For city council elections, my town had 8 percent voter turnout. (Yes, EIGHT.)

In my ward, where no one had filed to run, 54 people voted for write-in candidates. The winner is a liberal Democrat who won't be afraid to stand up and fight for libraries and gay and trans rights.

A minimum of organization and a person willing to serve can make a difference.
