  7. #EverythingElectric Show Sydney thoughts...

    So many EVs.

CT is uglier in the steel. Absurdly wide.
Cadillac? Very big, but looked ok.
YT celebrities spotted, Gavin, Sarah, Neerav, Robert, Elliot, Imogen, + some "I know that face". 1 Minister (Bowen)

    My winners:
(I like small but not tiny cars - quick is good)
    Smart Brabus
    Zeekr X
    Lots of model Y competition

    Overall:
Deepal E07. What a cool design. A CT done better, for normal people. @KiwiEV tried to break the tailgate. He failed. 😉

  11. Octopus Energy were giving away soft toy versions of their mascot, Constantine the Octopus. And, boy oh boy, they were absolutely everywhere at #EverythingElectric North. I even appear to have adopted one myself! In keeping with the sustainability theme, I noted that they were made from recycled fabric…

  13. An #ORA Cat (sorry, can’t bring myself to use the new, boring “03” name) at #EverythingElectric North. Not new, but I had to mention this #EV again because in this colour I can’t help but see it as a #Moopsy from #StarTrekLowerDecks

  15. A curiosity that was 10 years old but new to me: the VW XL1. An early plug-in hybrid diesel electric, this car was limited to 250 examples produced, and with prices starting at £119K were more than double that of the Cyberster, even without adjusting for inflation. #EverythingElectric

  17. I have to mention the #MG #Cyberster, making its second appearance at an #EverythingElectric show following the London one earlier this year. A great looking convertible #EV sportscar with scissor doors and a (for a sportscar) affordable price tag of £55K. Being rather tall, however, I don’t really fit in it, which is perhaps just as well so I can’t be tempted to get one!

  19. Some final thoughts about #EverythingElectric North. It’s obviously much smaller than the ones I’ve previously attended at Silverstone and Farnborough, with fewer exhibitors (not a single car charger network attended, for example) and no obvious product launches that I noticed. Many exhibitors were however more focused on serving the north of the UK, which suits me fine because I happen to be planning to help someone with a house renovation there soon.

  21. The amazing Fully Charged Show/Everything Electric team at the end of another fabulous show, this one in Harrogate. So much enthusiasm for a clean energy & transport future, and so many brilliant pieces of a better future already in place. Don’t just watch this space - come and join it.

  23. The last panel discussion of the weekend at #EverythingElectricNorth - “How do we make battery electric vehicles accessible for everyone?”

Matthew Adams of REA, Richard Mallender of Energy Saving Trust, Martin Revill of Urban Foresight, hosted by Imogen Bhogal.

Talking about physical #accessibility, how to make the charging network understandable and physically easy, plus financial accessibility.

  25. It's been a busy first day here at Everything Electric NORTH in Harrogate - lots of discussions about heat pumps, micromobility, the accessiblity of an electrified world, EV charging, and LOADS of great ideas that could go in political manifestos (I've been asking everyone). I'll start tomorrow with a fireside chat with Robert.. and I have lots to say 🙂
