In beinahe gänzlich unerschlossenen Innenstädten ist es ein Stück frustrierend, steht man doch minutenlang an einem Fleck und trägt Gebäude für Gebäude, Laden für Laden, Sitzbank für Sitzbank, etc. ein.

Recently, I had the opportunity to conduct a field mapping activity in Mumbai, specifically in the rapidly expanding region of Mira Bhayandar.
Working with a small but highly motivated team, we used the 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽 to map critical infrastructure and retail ecosystems on the ground.

On holiday in Brazil and the small town I'm staying in has almost nothing mapped. A couple key POIs are mapped, but, I still was able to add 20 new POIs to the "city centre". A 360 camera would have been a massive help, maybe next time.

@CiaraNi There is also CoMaps which is a fork of OrganicMaps by people who were a bit angry with the OM developers.
Irrespective of which #OpenStreetMap based app you use remember that you can edit the map yourself and make it better with apps like #StreetComplete or #EveryDoor. I think both OrganicMaps and CoMaps also allow edits in some capacity.
I am planning to do an intro to OpenStreetMap this spring for World Aalborg if you are interested.

Calling #OpenStreetMap #Ireland folks! I've been adding and correcting features on OSM using apps that support it, like #EveryDoor and #OrganicMaps, but I've not been involved in the community nor used any of the more heavyweight desktop map editing applications.
I'd like to add a missing legal right turn at a complex junction, and I don't know where to start.

I need #openstreetmap editing friends! I don't know anyone else who does it.
I use #EveryDoor and #CoMaps when I'm out and the iD editor for anything I can't do with the first two.
I mostly like adding business POIs as well as addresses and ocasionales building outlines.
Mostly it's just fun, supporting open data, and makes me feel like a cartographer!

The #EveryDoor app Is addictive: I went out for a walk and ended up adding a lot of house numbers and opening hours and even had some people install the app 😄
Now what I missed though was the possibility to enter "winter opening hours" and "summer opening hours", which are different for some shops... Ideas #OpenStreetMap people ?
... at some point I even thought it could be fun to partecipate in a new mapping party. Or am I late to the party and big corps bought it all?

@everydoor est vraiment un outil merveilleux, un peu austère certes, mais tellement pratique et puissant. C'est un outil parfait en complément de @streetcomplete , notamment pour placer précisément des objets comme des poubelles, arbres ou lampadaires, grâce aux vues aériennes notamment.

At a recent school workshop led by #HeiGIT, students at the temporärhaus in Ulm (Germany) learned to map buildings using satellite imagery and the HOT Tasking Manager, and how tools like #ohsomeNowStats help analyze and share data.

@m0xEE Oh, I can't recommend OsmAnd for this! Yes, it has the #OpenStreetMap editing plugin, but I can say that it's sole purpose is to get all paid OsmAnd features for free :dragnsarc:
I recommend #StreetComplete , #EveryDoor or #Vespucci (for "serious" mapping).
