Brisbane Zombie Walk, 2011. Four coordinated zombies — vampire, skeleton, schoolgirl, bride — each one a self-contained concept, all four cohering as a group without becoming uniform. That balance is harder to achieve than it looks, and the makeup work here had solved it.
Shooting without flash meant exposing for the faces and letting the dark clothing go. The grain from pushing shadows back added something a clean exposure wouldn't have.

I first met Jessie several years ago through a mentosrship program for queer disabled humans. Jessie was mentored in acting, myself in photography. We've been friends ever since and it is always a joy collaborrating with her.
