Abend in aufgeheizten Wohnküchen. Die Fenster beschlagen, eine Fliege rennt durch den Schein der alten Lampe an niedriger Decke. Karten, Routen, Stundenschätzungen. Eine weitere Tour, Fixpunkte, und die Müdigkeit dieses Tages ringsum. Langsamer Takt.

Later again. Hands wet and shaky, debugging other machines and the intimidating reality of black boxes. Sceptically watching, while the backyards gradually give up on today and get ready for sleep, yawning again, yawning still. Imagining topics for celestial conversations, waiting for shooting stars and a waning moon and that's about enough before waking to a new dawn. Sleep tight once you're willing to, wherever you are.

Finally: Watching networks repeatedly switch and clouds pull close across the water. A piazza filled with young people, a crowd of Vespa rollers heading for whatever is still left undone today. Music from an electric piano, an older vocalist, a slightly uncanny rendition of movie soundtrack classics. And a lot of sleep in the moment, fully aware of the distance for a second, noticing soul didn't completely catch up yet. Have a soft night wherever you are.
