My very first EVA foam prop was a large Skarmory knife in 2018. After making many knives (that would end up in my weapons merchant costume) in 2023, I decided to retackle it.
I expected the experience of making five experimental knives would result in a flawless project, but there was still much to learn and mistakes made.
I have since learned not to hype myself up too much, which has served me well.

CW: eye contact (from cosplayer)
My sharp-dressed Galarian Weezing costume from 2019 (which is my current profile pic).
I used a vinyl cutter and heat press for the first time to create the toxic icons on the front and back of my vest.
The stovetop extension is made from craft foam and slips on top of an existing hat.
The fancy pipe was 3D printed (and represents Weezing's second head).

CW: eye contact (from weapons merchant cosplayer)
"Just like your pitiful, mortal lives... These great deals won't last forever! 😀"
To utilize the prototype knives and shields I made in 2023, I did a weapons merchant costume that year. Resident Evil 4's merchant was the inspiration, but done a little flashier for fun.
(On my shoulders isn't a single reanimated bird cut in half. "Beatrice" and "Alfred" are two reanimated birds missing their other halves.)

Years ago, I was inspired to bring to life a great piece of art by my friend, Doug. I used a crusader helmet template by Ben Eadie as a basis for the helmet and constructed it out of floor mat foam and craft foam. The wearer can see through the black fabric covering the eyes and mouth.

My first Megaman Battle Network prop was a scaled-up Battle Chip for a friend's 30th birthday.
The body is made from layers of EVA foam and can hold any 4x6-inch photo. The nameplate is a plexiglass insert so you can write any names for any photos you want.
The "Recover 30 HP" photo was perfect for his birthday. Though it's been several years and he still hasn't swapped it out with any of the other photos... 😅

CW: eye contact (from Business Casual Link cosplayer)
In 2018 and 2022, I was Business Casual Link for Halloween. Equipped with the Hylian Clipboard, Master Pen, Microsoft Slate, and the Champion's Sweater Vest, he is the Hero of Meetings-That-Could-Have-Been-An-Email!

In 2023, I made a prop Cannon from Megaman Battle Network. It was donated to Desert Bus' Craft-Along fundraiser.
I finally learned a good deal of Fusion360 to create a 3D model. I took the model into Pepakura Designer to make 2D templates to build the majority from EVA foam. Some details were 3D printed.
I couldn't have finished it in time without the help of my family doing some odd jobs 🥰

Howdy, I'm a mixed-media artist of sorts. I enjoy making a variety of crafts, props, and costumes based on video games and original ideas. I like things that are neat, and I hope you think my stuff is too!

I'm creating a post-apocalyptic/Mad Max version of Yu-Gi-Oh's Junk Warrior for Halloween. Here's what I have so far for his iconic Scrap Fist.
This costume feels like a marrying of my pre and post-EVA foam days. Instead of being beholden to using whatever pre-fabricated items fit the closest, I am encouraged to do so (because of the theme) but I can enhance them with EVA foam crafting.

"Just like your pitiful, mortal lives... These great deals won't last forever! 😀"
After creating many prototype knives & shields this year, I made a weapons merchant costume. I drew inspiration from Resident Evil 4's merchant, but thought a fun twist would be if I was a flashier salesman.
On my shoulders is a broken skeleton bird I named Beatrice and Alfred. Yup, these are *two* reanimated birds missing their other halves.

The Cannon from Mega Man Battle Network is at last complete! It’s already arrived at its destination and I can’t wait to see what happens during Desert Bus.
I hit a lot of roadblocks coming to the finish line but was very fortunate to have my brother help me during his visit.

I'll be teaching two propmaking classes later this year! But when told that we needed promo pictures soon, I challenged myself to see how quickly I could assemble the class props.
The miniature shield took 1.5 hours (including time spent trying to find my hot glue gun). I came up with the card suit theme on the fly and like the concept. The eye mask was made from a Kamui Cosplay template and took 30 minutes.
Hopefully they will help draw an audience!

The prop I'm making for Desert Bus is the Cannon from Megaman Battle Network.
I finally learned Fusion 360 since it was crucial for this project. Once I was happy with the 3D model, I turned it into templates in Pepakura.
My current goal is to create rough prototypes to figure out the best way to assemble everything. I'm still experimenting but pretty happy with how this first prototype came out.
