🚆📷 The line E3 of #Euskotren was also still pending for me! It runs between Kukullaga-Etxebarri and Lezama, serving 16 stations. The route is 19 km long and shares its initial section with line L3, allowing a weekday frequency of 7.5′ along this stretch and 15′ on the rest.

🚆🌊 This was one of the #Euskotren lines I hadn’t yet travelled, and what a view! The E4 is a commuter service that connects Matiko-Bilbao and Bermeo, with 25 stations over 52 km. The landscape becomes distinctly maritime at Mundaka, where the train runs along the coastline.

Another #Euskotren train takes me further towards west from Zarautz to Bilbao. It's a beautiful train journey on this Sunday morning. #BlankSpots

There is disruption to the train journey at Aia-Orio due to maintenance work. Although the replacement buses are slower than the #Euskotren, the schedule remains unchanged. To avoid waiting times when travelling further, a creative solution has been found: Three westbound buses run further than the disrupted 5 km section with destinations Zarautz, Zumaia or Eibar (40 km). Eastbound buses terminate at Aia-Orio. Additional trains, running 15 mins later than usual, collect passengers. #BlankSpots

Leaving Hendaye station and entering Hendaia station. Yes, that's right — it's time for the #Euskotren! These metro-style trains tend to get crowded around Donostia. If you're a traveller with a backpack or even a large suitcase, you might feel out of place. As there are no passenger trains on the parallel Adif tracks, Euskotren, which runs every 30 minutes, is the better 'option'. #BlankSpots

De retour à #Hendaye, c'est la même panique sur le #Euskotren qu'à l'aller pour les passagers qui veulent prendre le #TER pour #Bordeaux. Car il y a 5min pour changer...et il faut passer les portiques. Avec les bébés, les poussettes, les grands parents et ceux qui sont juste un peu désorientés, ça se bouche aux portiques, on s'énerve et la moitié des valeureux coureurs n'aura pas son train.

De l'autre côté de la #Bidassoa la petite gare de #IrunFicoba sur le #Euskotren. Un projet de resignalisation avec un de mes concurrents a eu lieu pour fiabiliser le trafic. Ça a l'air de marcher ;)

Concernant le #Euskotren voici ce que me propose la #SNCF et les #CFF si je cherche un trajet pour #Donostia #SanSebastian. Les français s'arrêtent à Hendaye, les suisses me font marcher à pied. :-)

Aucun ne connaît le Euskotren.

Nota: il y aurait aussi un bus...

#Euskotren parlons en... C'est fantastique qu'il existe, il est régulier et fréquent.
- Mais il n'est pas dans la base de données des trains européens #Merits.
- Il requiert un ticket de type #RER. Les nombreux passagers du TGV de Paris sont déboussolés. Les agents SNCF ne sont pas aidants.
- Il y a la queue aux guichets et automates.
- Les portiques ne sont pas simples à passer. Il n'y a qu'un seul sens correct pour insérer le billet. Dans la panique tout le monde se trompe.

Na estación de Bermeo, a piques de partir de volta a Bilbao.

@fedello O tema de reservar asento nos rexionais xa me parece moi ineficiente (provoca que se esgoten as prazas habendo asentos libres).

Os prezos (sen abono gratuíto) son moi elevados. Cando viaxo coa miña parella temos descartado o tren porque nos sae máis barata a gasolina do coche que 2 billetes (e os prezos dos billetes a Ourense son un sinsentido 🤯).

Para decembro estou planificando unha viaxe a Euskadi, tocará probar o #Euskotren 🥰.

🇪🇸🚉🇫🇷 Today's afternoon #CrossBorderRail service №284 by #Euskotren from San Sebastian / Donostia (Loiola station) to Hendaye / Hendaia was very crowded as it is the only Cross-Border railway in service ☝️!

⏳️ It's a quick 32 min ride to the last stop of #SNCF 🚄TGV-trains to #Bordeaux and #Paris (last of the day leaves Hendaye at 6.06 pm). #Euskadi2024 @jon @seatsixtyone

🟢🔴⚪️🚊 It's very nice to explore the #Euskotren tram network in Basque cities of #Bilbao and #VitoriaGasteiz. The nice CAF Urbos 1 trams gliding through a lot of green areas and lawn tracks🛤.

↘️ Downside: Intervals are at best every 15 min, usually >20 min, or hourly in the evening. Absolutely useless. 🙁

☀️🚂🚃🚃🚃 The Basque🟢🔴 #Euskotren Railway Museum in #Azpeita is an amazing place 😍, especially on the summer season's weekends with its steam loco hauled heritage service to #Lasao 🤩.

💡 It runs on the former Urola railway line between #Zumarrága & #Zumaia. The 4.5 km route is isolated from the Euskotren network but easily accessible from Eibar, Zumaia or Vitoria by #Lurraldebus🚍. #FensterAuf #Euskadi2024

🏖🌊☀️ The Basque coastline is a wonderful place, full of breathtaking views of the unique Flysch landscape and also of #Euskotren 🤩.

Especially recommended is the ~18km long hike from #Zumaia to #Deba, partly on the Camino de la Costa and on the former narrow gauge railway line 😍! #Euskadi2024

🚉🕔 It's #Bahnzeit at Donostia-Amara - #Euskotren's main station in #Donostia / #SanSebastian. Especially the railway station restaurant is a wonderful place for a quick #Pintxo🥪 or another refreshment 😍!
