I won’t attend Euruko this year. Now I have a spare ticket. Just send me your name and email in a PM and it is yours! Only message if you are actually going there (and are willing to send me a picture).

Getting to EuRuKo is easier than it looks ✈️
Brno has no major airport, but the routes are short:
→ Vienna (VIE): direct bus, ~2h. Best option for most people.
→ Prague (PRG): ~3h30 via Airport Express + train.
→ Bratislava (BTS): ~1h30 by train from the city centre. Both conference days include lunch and coffee at the venue, so you won't be hunting for food between talks.

Thank you to Railsware, digital supporter of EuRuKo 2026 🎉
Bootstrapped, profitable, and Rails-native since 2007 — remote-first across 25+ countries.
They build Mailtrap, Coupler and TitanApps, and helped create success stories like Calendly.
Their take on why they're supporting us: engineering and community matter even more in the AI era. Hard to argue with that.

📣 EuRuKo 2026 speaker announcement: Chris Hasinski
"From C to Ruby: Porting Doom"
Doom is a 3D engine on 2D maps — dynamic lighting, sprites, variable floor heights. A properly demanding real-time, CPU-bound workload.
Chris shows how to port a large C codebase to Ruby, validate correctness via frame comparison, and measure what it costs.

Benoit Daloze (Datadog, CRuby committer, TruffleRuby maintainer) shows how native extensions can run in parallel threads, what conditions that requires, and how to make Hash parallel, thread-safe, and fast — all using Threads, not Ractors, so it works with most gems as-is.
Early Bird pricing ends this week (Aug 2). Full price from Aug 3.
Tickets: https://2026.euruko.org/
